Romania Fuller Center for Housing - Build Days 2, 3 & 4

Jucu de Sus, Romania – 2024. The Fuller Center for Housing of Cluj Romania, partnering with a Romanian charity, Association ACASA, builds housing in Jucu de Sus, a village not far from Cluj-Napoca. I was with a team of 18 volunteers on a weeklong build. Day 2 at the build site started with everyone digging and moving dirt and clay to level off an area behind duplex 2 and 3. Day 3 was more moving of dirt but fewer people doing it. Contractors were on site to pour a foundation for another duplex. Because the hillside was unstable and the water table very high the foundation trench must be excavated and the concrete poured on the same day.
